Last week Council Member Harry Thomas Jr. agreed to pay back $300,000 in DC taxpayer money that he was accused of diverting from city youth groups for personal use.

Sound the drum beat of calls for his resignation… Council Members David Catania and Tommy Wells have issued statements calling for Thomas to resign (see Fox news report).  Apparently incensed Ward 5 residents are now generating petitions for Thomas’ resignation (DC rules would not allow a recall vote until January).
