It seems that the Shops at Dakota Crossing shopping center at Fort Lincoln is finally moving forward. As we have reported in the past, this project has lagged because of financing and permits. But according to this article from the WBJ says that the groundbreaking for the center could be this summer.
This shopping center, located off of Route 50 and South Dakota Ave will have a Costco, Target, and a Shoppers as it’s anchors.
yay. joy. (not really)
Wow-no Lowes, then? Pity, that would have been a draw for us. Not sure what a “Shoppers” is, but it does not sound appealing. Perhaps some of the smaller shops might be interesting–but unless an EYA type developer is involved, or an Abdo, and there is some kind of small-business, ecologically-oriented pull (green roofs? effective storm water filtration? Solar panels? Anything!) I doubt this will be very successful. Probably will not compete with Hyattsville, but one can hope.
