Who’s excited for Nido?

I had the opportunity yesterday to meet Erin and Karlos, the proprietors of Nido, a coming-soon Mediterranean restaurant to 2200 block of RIA NE.

I was given a tour of the restaurant, and although they are still knee deep in renovations and construction, the potential for the space was obvious. Long gone is the dark walls and dark lighted space that once was Lace. Erin and Karlos are bumping out the facade to put in a full glass windowed front, and along with the huge sky light, sun light will flood the main floor. A new bar with at least eight taps will occupy one side of the main floor, and ample tables will occupy the rest.

One floor below, another full bar and more seating (with built in benches in each corner of the room), offer plenty of space for hanging out at the bar or sitting down for dinner. The layout doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a basement.

Anticipation is building in the neighborhood and beyond. The opening cannot come soon enough…expect late spring/summer opening.
