A new development is being proposed across Rhode Island Ave NE from the RIA Metro station (and behind the blue school building) along Channing Place NE. Douglas Development’s Jemal’s Channing Place is proposing to develop a major residential and commercial space at 805-809 Channing Place NE (a map of the location is below). 
The two proposed buildings will consist of 141k and 174k sqft of new residential and commercial space. The group presented at the ANC5B meeting on December 4th. Read their plan more here and take a look at one of their conceptual drawings here:
